A Home with a Story
Trulli del Trappeto is a unique place in the heart of Puglia, where history, architecture and contemporary design come together in perfect harmony.
Our story began in 2017, when we first travelled to the Valle d’Itria. We were immediately captivated by the landscape, the warmth of the people, the timeless architecture and the way of life here. When we discovered this property — a former olive mill with adjoining trulli — it felt like a place with stories to tell, and we knew we wanted to be part of its next chapter.
Locally, the house was already known as Il Trulli del Trappeto, as people once brought their olives here to be pressed. The combination of the generous spaces of the old olive mill and the charm of the traditional trulli, with their thick stone walls and conical roofs, gave the property a character unlike anything we had seen before.
After twelve years in Hong Kong running my own product design company, I was drawn to the opportunity to restore this remarkable place. Together with local architects and skilled craftsmen, we carefully brought the buildings back to life, always respecting their original soul while creating a comfortable, modern home.
The interiors reflect a thoughtful mix of old and new: vaulted ceilings, original stone and antique tiles sit alongside contemporary furniture, vintage finds and pieces made especially for the house.
Today, Trulli del Trappeto is a place we still love to return to, to slow down, cook, spend time with family and friends and enjoy the simple beauty of life in Puglia. We are delighted to share it with guests who appreciate authenticity, design and the pleasure of being in one of Italy’s most enchanting regions.
